My Big A$$ Garden!

Today was absolutely GORGEOUS so I finally got a pic of my big, ginormous garden! It doesn't look like much right now because the only thing green in there are the heirloom tomatoes that were purchased as plants.

(Jen and Cecil's Garden 2013 ~ Week 1)

I forgot to mention on the last post that we planted cucumbers as well. Me and my Daddy LOVE cucumbers!  I could eat 'em like a banana, I love them so much!

The big pile of logs in the background is my hubby's supply for his woodworking biz (check out www.EarlywoodOnline.com).  The cutey pie in the picture is my baby girl, Cloe (pronounced like Chloe but without the "h"). She's an almost 14 year old bichon frise who I adore...along with my 3 cats, Charlie, Einstein, and Jesse (pics later on those 3 crazy boys).

Cloe and I were out on our daily walk and she was interested in the new garden digs! Hopefully none of the other critters around us will be interested. At least the REALLY tall fence will keep the deer from jumping in!

Not much happening in the studio this week...I needed a break after the Maryland Master Gardener's Conference where I showed and sold my jewelry and other artisan delights!

It was a fun show and I met lots of cool gardening folks and other vendors at the show; a great place to network!

Check out our new Ombre necklaces on the site. I'm wearing one in the pic above and to the right on the table, there are a bunch hanging. They are HOT, HOT, HOT!!! They can be made in any color scale...from white to deep purple in 5 beads...or try from black to white in 5 beads...its whatever colors you like and the steps in between that get you from one color to the color at the other end of the spectrum! Check them out at http://www.savedspiritdesigns.com/necklaces.html.  Also see a sample below.

Well, that's it from me for today!
Peace and love.

Garden Planting

It's that time of year...garden planting time!  This is our first garden and the hubby is doing it up right and big.

We've got some property to play with so he tilled it up in a part of the property that gets sun...all the time except when the sun goes in and the moon comes out.  The fencing is tall to keep the deer, who love to traipse across the property, out.  So folks, we're gonna have some good harvesting!  Watermelon, zucchini, heirloom tomatoes, and of course, herbs....to be exact.

I've had an herb garden in the back yard for the past 12 years so its just moving to its new home...cozy with the other garden goodies.  We're starting out small this year but the garden is grow-into-able.  In other words, hubby made it extra long so we can add more stuff in years to come.

Now...what would a polymer clay artist make to go in the garden?  For starters, markers!  Check out Saved Spirit Designs  Herb Sticks!  They are hot and gorgeous.  Several different styles available and come in sets of 4 that include Sage, Rosemary, Thyme and Basil...my favs and maybe yours' too!  You can order your very own here... Herb Sticks at Saved Spirit Designs.

We have a friend who is making us a garden gate and once we get it installed and the garden goodies planted, I'll be sure to post pics!

Yummmm...cannot wait to make something delicious with the goodies that come from our garden.

Happy gardening to you all!
